MGMT promoter methylation status

I am going to try to explain this the way my brain works.

So my mom's tumor has been biopsied and it turns out she tested positive for O6-methylguanine (O6-MeG)-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylation status. This is a quality of her tumor that denotes lots of complicated things I don't feel confident explaining, but for us, it means it super likes this one chemo treatment that has the same name as the tabloid journalism online newspaper, TMZ, but its full name is Temodar or Temozolomide. Her tumor will eat this and not grow until the tumor gets full and stops responding to it. We don't know when that will be, but we hope it will be a really long time from now.

If we get really lucky, the chemo may shrink the tumor, so please pray, beg, send good vibes for this to happen. Even if that is the case, it is not possible for her to regain the cognitive function she has already lost.
